School payments & deadlines

Keep the amount, deadline and reason together

RdyUp helps parents and caregivers organise school information that includes a payment amount and due date, what it is for, and which child it relates to. RdyUp may prepare those details from information you provide; you review and confirm them before saving.

Not just £15

An amount is more useful with its context

“£15” on its own leaves questions. A school trip payment is easier to understand when it stays with the payment due date, the trip date, the relevant child, and requirements such as permission or a packed lunch.

RdyUp stores one optional related payment with a Family Information item. The payment holds an exact amount, currency, optional due date and paid or unpaid state; the item can hold its title, details, event date, deadline, location, requirements and child associations.

Where payment information arrives

Start with the information in front of you

A payment request may be in a forwarded school email, a school letter, document photo or screenshot, a voice note, or information you type yourself. The focus here is what happens next: keeping the amount and due date with their useful context.

What RdyUp can keep together

The payment stays attached to the reason

A Family Information item can combine the payment amount, currency and payment due date with the item title and details. Where present, it can also keep a separate event date, item deadline, location, requirements, notes and the relevant child or children.

Saved Items displays the related amount, its payment due date and whether it is unpaid, overdue or paid alongside the item's other details.

How it works

From payment request to reviewed information

  1. Bring in the relevant information

Forward the school email, add the relevant image or document, record a voice note, or type the information into RdyUp.

  2. Review the proposed details

Where RdyUp prepares a proposal, check the item, amount, currency, payment due date and the surrounding context.

  3. Make it accurate

Edit the proposal, add or remove its payment, and select the relevant child or children when that is useful.

  4. Confirm and save

Save the information when it is right, or discard the capture. Saved Items keeps the payment with its Family Information item.

  5. Keep its status clear

In Saved Items, a payment can be shown as unpaid, overdue or paid, and its details can be edited or removed.

Review before relying on it

Prepared details are not assumed to be perfect

Check the payment amount, currency, payment due date and the details around them. Before confirming a proposal, you can correct editable information, add or remove its payment, remove a proposed item, save when it is right, or discard the capture.

After saving, the item editor lets you change the payment amount, currency, due date and paid state, add a payment to an item, or remove its payment.

Which child is this for?

Keep payment-related information with the right child

The Family Information item that owns the payment can be associated with one child or multiple children. Child selection is optional, so information that applies across the household can remain unassigned.

See the broader guide to organising family information for multiple children.

Payment due date

Wednesday

The date the £15 payment is due.

Event date

Friday

The date the school trip happens.

RdyUp keeps a related payment due date separate from the item's event date and item deadline. Only use dates supported by the information you have, then check them before saving.

Deadlines and reminders

A saved due date is not a promise of an automatic alert

RdyUp keeps a payment due date with the saved item so you can find and review it. Do not rely on the due date as a guarantee that RdyUp will automatically create a reminder or send a notification; check Saved Items and the original school information.

Information, not a transaction

RdyUp does not take the school payment

RdyUp helps organise the information around a school payment. It does not process or send money to the school, connect a bank account, authorise a transaction or pay a deadline automatically. Make the payment using the method the school provides.
