After-school collection
A grandparent can have the selected details connected to the child they are collecting.
Care Handover for grandparents and caregivers
When someone else is caring for your child, RdyUp Care Handover lets the Family Owner choose the relevant children, selected information and access period to share with them.
The recipient gets a focused view for the care context. Accepting a Care Handover does not automatically make them a Family member or a Full Adult.
When someone else is looking after them
A Care Handover is designed for a grandparent, relative or trusted caregiver who needs selected information while helping with care.
A grandparent can have the selected details connected to the child they are collecting.
A relative looking after a child can refer back to the practical information chosen for that period.
A trusted caregiver can see selected dates, times, location and reminders without browsing the whole Family.
What does the caregiver need to know?
The Owner can select Family Information associated with the chosen child or children. A shared item can show its title and details, dates or times, due date and location where those fields are present.
Individual reminders from a selected item can also be chosen. Practical care notes can be added for the handover itself.
How Care Handover works
The Family Owner enters a name and the email address that will receive the private invitation.
Select one or more children. Children outside that selection are not included.
Select relevant Family Information and individual reminders, and add practical care notes if needed.
Choose when the caregiver should be able to start and stop viewing the handover.
Check the recipient, children, information and period before sending the invitation.
The recipient signs in or creates a RdyUp account with the invited email, verifies it and accepts the handover. They can then view the grant while it is active.
Selected information, not the whole Family
The caregiver's view is read-only and limited to the children, Family Information, reminders and care notes granted in that handover. They cannot browse unselected children or information, and they cannot change or delete Family information.
Care Handover is separate from normal Family access. It does not add the recipient as a Family member and does not grant the Full Adult role.
For more on how information can belong to one child or several, see how RdyUp helps organise a family with multiple children.
Only the granted view, available during its active period.
No automatic Family membership, Full Adult role or access to unselected Family information.
Time and control
The Owner chooses the access start and end. The caregiver can view the handover only after accepting it and while that period is active. When the end time passes, the Care Handover is no longer available to them.
End it sooner
The Owner can end access before the chosen end time. The caregiver immediately loses access to that Care Handover; giving access again requires a new handover.
Two different kinds of access
The Owner stays in control
The Family Owner chooses the recipient email, the child or children, each Family Information item and reminder, any practical care notes, and the access period. The selection is reviewed before the invitation is sent.
RdyUp does not decide who your trusted caregiver is. Share a Care Handover only with the person you intend to receive it.
